“Vlisco Women’s month “Live the Dream” is about inspiring dreams and one woman’s achievement often inspires another woman’s dream. Many women find great inspiration by watching other women overcome their challenges and live their dreams.”
“Tonight we have three beautiful nominees whose stories inspire us all. These three stories show the women are dedicated to their dreams, are living it and excelling at them.”
“If a little dreaming is dangerous, the cure for it is not dreaming less but to dream even more and dream all the time. We therefore acknowledge this month as Vlisco Women’s Month. It is a well know saying that if you educate a man, you educate an individual but when you educate a woman, you educate an entire nation.”
The above statements are from Adaeze Alilionu, channel activator manager Vlisco on the occasion of the Celebration of Vlisco Women’s Month Award which took place on Sunday, 26th April 2015 at the Federal Palace hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Dotun Akande, founder and proprietress of Patrick Speech and Language Centre, emerged winner of Vlisco Women’s Month Award. Patrick’s Speech and Language Centre is the first of such centre in Nigeria set to help individuals and children with autism to develop their talents while providing support to the families.
The night of celebrating dreams saw women from all walks of life in attendance gorgeously and fabulously dressed in their Vlisco fabrics which really turned out a kaleidoscope of many colours.
The celebration was indeed an all female affair – The entertainment was provided by an all female ensembles of musicians, dancers, comedian and artists. It was a memorable and fun night.
