A Federal Court has banned the collection of toll on the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge.
Justice Saliu Saidu ruled that the imposition of toll on the bridge was illegal as it was built using public funds.
The suit was filed by human rights lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, who sought to challenge Lagos State and their right to collect tolls. After the verdict he said, “For now, everybody in Lagos State should be free to pass through that bridge without paying any money, we cannot pay tax to build a bridge and pay another money to use it.”
What are your thoughts on the decision? Will you be using the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge more often now it’s toll free?
