Suspended CBN Governor, Vows to Challenge the Order

The Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido has been suspended.

The order, issued via statement from President Jonathan’s spokesman Reuben Abati, said Sanusi  was suspended for “various acts of financial recklessness and misconduct which are inconsistent with the administration’s vision of a Central Bank.” He has been replaced by his deputy Sarah Alade as acting governor.

Sanusi,  who is currently in Niger at an ECOWAS event spoke, to CNBC Africa and vowed to challenge the suspension, although he said he would not return to CBN even if his challenge is successful.
