No dream is too small or too big, no miracle is a farce

Growing up in a family of 5 was awesome for me. We had tons of joys and well…. A considerable amount of tears.

My father was a man of very few words but when he did speak, he could make the whole earth shiver with power, I mean that literally.

My mum, ever the disciplinarian would teach my sisters’ and I to be lady like at all times.  I guess that’s why I would never forget her and how she taught my sisters and I to be spontaneous, take risks, take chances, jump with your eyes open, forgive yourself, and always remember to love yourself.

Over the years I got to enjoy my life, but I sometimes forgot about the most important things, taking a plunge, just do it! Leaving my comfort zone and head for the high hills.

As life happened to me, I forgot most of what my mum taught, I forgot how to laugh at myself, I forgot how to love, I forgot how to give, I just lived each day as is. If you are wondering what tragedy happened to me, it wasn’t only that I lost my ma or anything, it was more like I became afraid. I was afraid and alone. I have never been one to be scared of the unknown but I guess as I got older, my fairytales and rose tinted gardens faded into the background.

I allowed myself to be loveless, I centered my dreams on me alone, I didn’t trust anyone, I put my faith in God and even at the back of my mind, I still tried to not open my heart so I wouldn’t get scarred.

I believed in so many things that I dropped along the way as I grew older, I realized that some of my fancy dreams weren’t good enough for me but I’ve come to pause and think…I’ve come to realize that no dream is too small or too big, no miracle is a farce, you can have more with hard work and a resilient spirit, you can have all your dreams come true.

In the course of your life, if like me, you sometimes feel overwhelmed by situations and issues, you have to be ready to face the truth and wrap your head and mind on the positives. Even if you are denied the opportunity, work hard and somehow your dreams will shine through but JUST DO IT!

Sometimes it’s easy to feel like you’re the only one in the world who’s struggling, who’s frustrated, or unsatisfied at barely getting by. But, that feeling is a lie and if you just hold on; just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find the way and make it all okay.
