The world continues to mourn the death of one of Africa’s most illustrious sons. Former President of South Africa Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela passed away late last year.
Nelson Mandela was a revolutionary and spent 27 years in prison as part of his fight for equality of black South Africans. Upon his release he promoted peace and reconciliation and became an shining example of dignity and integrity.
Mandela died on 5 December 2013 at the age of 95. He is survived by his wife Graca Machel, six children and seventeen grandchildren.
