A Place in the Stars

St. Gideon Okeke, Segun Arinze, et al.

A-Place-in-the-Stars

For those who have missed the “Black Arrow” – Segun Arinze’s character over the years then this movie is a must watch for you. And if you belong to the “new school” you might learn a thing or two about playing the bad boy role from this former head of Actor’s guild. Gideon Okeke is the young lawyer (Kim Dakim) who has to choose between saving many human lives and making millions of naira for himself. But when the one whose case it is that will bring in millions is Segun Arinze (playing Diokpa Okonkwo), then money and others’ lives might not be the choices you’ll be making. Your life might also be on the line. Will Kim be his father’s son and cling to ‘doing right’, or…?

Dumb and Dumber To

St. Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, et al.

dumb dumber to

With Snowpiercer ruling the Nigerian cinema box office with over 1.8 million naira, it is Dumb and Dumber To’s weekend gross of $36.1 million USD that caught my attention this week.  The sequel coming 20 years after the Dumb and Dumber film starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels had an estimated budget of $30 million USD, so believe me when I say, a weekend opening of +8 million USD of the budget figures is not a bad idea and a comedy at that? C’mon, Carrey and Daniels did enough to send $165 million USD budget Big Hero 6 to the second spot last weekend.

Blank Space

By Taylor Swift

It’s Taylor Swift again! This time the songstress did the impossible with her track Blank space when it moved from a 13th spot on Billboard’s Hottest 100 to claim the number one spot!!! And yes, she is the first female to succeed herself at the number one spot too. At 19.2 million streams in the US alone last week ending November 16th, Taylor has again shown that doubting her abilities is something no one should try.

Owo ni Koko

By Davido

davido

Davido promised us a present today as he clocks 22, so yesterday he decided to drop it a day earlier. Owo ni koko was dropped yesterday. Do you agree with him that “owo ni koko” ; a Yoruba saying that means, “money is the most important of all”? Whether you agree with his thoughts or not, celebrate his birthday with him as you enjoy this song with him.
