Former PDP Gov Candidate In Ondo, Olusola Oke Set To Defect To APC

More defections are about to hit the People’s Democratic Party in Ondo State.  A notable governorship candidate of the PDP in 2012 and former National Legal Adviser of the People’s Democratic Party Olusola Oke, according to information at our disposal has concluded plans to defect to opposition All Progressives Congress in the state. A close aid of the PDP chieftain revealed that Oke met former President Obasanjo in Abeokuta to brief him of his intention to dump the party and got his blessings.

Words out there indicate that Oke has met with All Progressives congress leaders at the party’s secretariat along Oyemekun road in Akure, Ondo State to finalize his move. As at the time of filing this report, Olusola Oke is yet to make any official comment, neither is he responding to calls or text messages sent to his phone.

Among issues allegedly discussed during Oke’s meeting the APC leaders includes that he (Oke) would be defecting alongside his supporters to the All Progressives Congress (APC), which literary means he is coming with a whole structure to the party, and there must be room to accommodate them all”,.

Tayo Alasoadura, a leader of the party and senator-elect from the Ondo central senatorial district of the state who was also at the midnight meeting said “Oke is now with us”.

“Yes, I can confirm to you that Olusola Oke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is now in the All Progressives Congress (APC). We have talked and ironed out how the party would accommodate us all. He would be coming with a big structure, and there is enough room to accommodate them all.

“His defection would put heat on his former party and is going to be a crack on their wall because more people are coming. You remembered the Deputy Governor, Ali Olanusi is now with us, and I can assure you that many more will join us in days to come”, he said.

Oke had been in a brawl with the embattled governor of the state, Olusegun Mimiko since the defection of latter to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and subsequent domination of the party.
