A Limpopo South African couple risk a jail term for locking up their two-month-old son in a car as they went shopping in Tzaneen, Limpopo.
But for alert security guards who heard the baby crying and notified the police, the tot would have suffocated to death, as all the windows were locked.
The baby was rescued and checked at a nearby hospital and the couple arrested for allegedly leaving the boy inside a parked vehicle at a shopping mall, Limpopo police said
“He was unharmed and released into his parent’s custody,” the police spokesman said.
The couple is due to appear in the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court.
