Is the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease curable with herbs? Reports from Liberia suggest that such is possible.
However, a young man who claimed to have received God’s revelation to treat Ebola Virus Disease with herbs and who had some success treating Ebola, died mysteriously on September 17, 2014 at his residence in Ganta after a short illness.
Ebola herbalist Robin Dahn early August 2014 told Ganta City official that the Ebola medicine had been shown to him in a vision by creatures he claimed to be angels.
“I had the dream on two separate occasions with the angels, revealing the same medicine in my dream. I want to be granted permission to carry on the treatment free of charge”.
With the city authority and the Ebola task force predictably refusing him the necessary consent, Dahn got funding from his Church, prepared his herbs and began treating those suspected of having Ebola in the Small Ganta Community and in other parts of Nimba where people were quarantined.
He had started gaining popularity at the time of his death across Nimba and other places he used to move treating people suspected to be Ebola patients and his death is said to have left a trail of sadness, as most of the people that he treated had recovered and are going about their normal duties.
“We really don’t know what killed Robin, because he was not sick for long,” said his friend Alex Miapue.
“Robin told his wife before dying that “I’m going to die, but when I die people will say it is Ebola, but it is not Ebola,” Alex is recalled to have stated.
“Since the man gave some herbs to those that were quarantined in Beadatuo in Buu–Yao in Nimba County, they have been well and were no longer showing any sign,” said Allison Dahn who accompanied the herbalist to Beadatuo Town.
An LNP officer assigned at the Ganta Police Detail was very sick believed to be Ebola; she got her healing accordingly from the late Robin.
Many persons around Ganta have been singing Robin’s praises on local radio stations in Nimba, and his mysterious death has shocked many, especially those whose relatives were treated by him.
And there has been another report of angelic intervention in the treatment of Ebola in the same Nimba.
On August 9, 2014, about the same time that Robin Dahn had his vision, another Nimba boy, the Nimba County Town called Tunudin, which is close to Ganta, claimed that angels appeared to him while harvesting his palm, in broad daylight.
“The angels instructed me to begin my treatment in Monrovia with Ebola patients identified by Medical Doctors”, Paye Sayegon disclosed.
Again when Paye and his men went to Monrovia to test the medicine, the government denied them access and they returned to Nimba where he said had been instructed to do the work in certain football field in Ganta.
There was a huge turnout of people who wanted to get treated, but because it sowed fear among the residents, Superintendent Fong Zuagele put a halt to his work.
For the late Robin Dahn, he operated without restriction, and gave the herbs to people whether they were diagnosed of the Ebola Virus or not.
He died along with one of his followers Wednesday 17 September 2014 in their hometown, leaving a pastor who was also accompanying him ill.
His death was later confirmed by the Ganta City Mayor Dorr Cooper on a local radio’s early news show on Thursday 18 September 2014.
The alleged slowness of the health authorities in responding to those coming down to the treatment centers and the breakdown of the health systems across the country has left many Ebola victims finding other solutions to their illness.
