My dear daughter,
I know I sometimes wax religious. Remember the passage from the Lord’s Prayer – “And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” God who created us wants us to forgive each other’s offences and not hold them to heart. So he asked us to forgive those who offend us. Forgiving those who offend us is good for our spiritual and physical wellbeing and also helps us to maintain a very good and close relationship with our God.
As Jennifer Aniston said in an interview: “…I think it’s extremely important to forgive. Otherwise it just builds up like toxic waste. There’s nothing worse than holding a grudge.” “Listen, people can do unforgivable things, but you have to let it go and say, ‘Look, we’re all human beings. We make mistakes.’ To hold any kind of resentment is like taking rat poison and waiting for the rat to die.
